Cuttyhunk Books is named after one of the Elizabeth Islands, located off the southeastern Massachusetts coast. It's name is derived from a Wampanoag Indian word often translated to mean "Point of Departure" or "Land's End." As literature figuratively can be a starting place for a personal journey, an extraordinary adventure, or a return to safe harbor, Cuttyhunk is a fitting name for a publishing company whose goals are to introduce readers to exciting and worthy authors from around the world. |

Though a new publishing company, Cuttyhunk is planning to be on the literary scene for many years through deliberate but careful growth. In 2007 we published two books. In 2008 we will publish three. Though we are optimistic about our future prospects, we trust that writers understand that even when we hit our target number of annual new releases, we still will be only able to publish a tiny percentage of manuscripts that are submitted to us. That said, we welcome the opportunity to review new works, with the following warning: We are unable to return and are not responsible for the return of any manuscripts submitted, regardless of whether return postage and mailers are provided. In future updates to this page we will have a link to guidelines for each of our book imprints.
